Scan speed varies with settings like resolution and color depth. You can use the folio feature to scan a folded piece of paper and let the software reassemble the left and right sides-scanned as front and back-into one page. Once you've learned your way around them, however, you'll find some highly useful touches, including a folio-scan feature. The driver and scan programs are easy to use, but neither is explained well in the manual. If you need other software, you'll have to buy it.
